Have you noticed that your hair is becoming thinner or that its density is decreasing? For certain forms of hair loss, PRP treatment may be considered to support the hair follicles.
What is PRP?
Your own platelets, concentrated
PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. A small amount of blood is taken before treatment. After centrifugation, the part containing a higher concentration of platelets is used to treat the scalp.
Platelets contain growth factors involved in the body’s natural repair processes. PRP is intended to support existing hair follicles; it does not create new hair follicles.

From blood sample to PRP
A treatment using your own plasma
After the blood sample is taken, it is carefully processed to obtain the platelet-rich plasma used for treatment.
Blood sample and processing
A small amount of your own blood is taken and then centrifuged.
Concentrated plasma
The resulting PRP is then injected in small amounts into the selected areas of the scalp.

The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis at our clinic in Diest.
Consultation
We assess your hair loss, health, medication and expectations and discuss whether PRP may be suitable.
Blood sample
A small amount of blood is taken, similar to a routine blood test.
Centrifugation
The blood is processed to obtain plasma containing concentrated platelets.
Injections
The PRP is administered through small injections into the areas of the scalp being treated.

Hair improvement takes time
Any effect is not immediate. The hair cycle progresses slowly, and potential changes usually only become visible over time.
The number of treatments, intervals and any maintenance sessions are tailored to your situation. Responses to PRP vary, and not everyone achieves the same result.

After treatment
What can you expect?
You can usually return home on the same day. The scalp may temporarily feel sensitive or appear red or slightly swollen around the injection sites.
The treatment team will give you clear instructions about hair care, exercise, sun exposure and products during the first period after treatment.
Temporary sensitivity
A prickling sensation or feeling of tightness may occur shortly after the injections.
Personal aftercare
Follow the instructions provided after your treatment.
Gradual process
The hair cycle needs time; do not assess the result immediately.

Good to know about PRP
Is PRP treatment painful?
The treatment requires a blood sample and small injections into the scalp. Experiences vary; most people mainly describe a brief prickling or sensitive sensation.
How many PRP treatments will I need?
The appropriate number and intervals depend on your situation and the protocol used. We will discuss a personalised treatment plan during your appointment.
When might I see results?
The hair cycle progresses slowly. Any changes therefore only become visible over time. Results vary and cannot be guaranteed.
Can PRP create new hair follicles?
No. PRP is intended to support existing hair follicles. It cannot create new follicles in areas where no active hair follicles remain.
Do you also use PRP on the face?
No. Belgian Beauty Clinic uses PRP exclusively for hair loss and the scalp, not for facial skin rejuvenation.
Are there reasons why PRP may not be suitable?
Yes. Certain conditions, infections, blood or clotting disorders and medications can play a role. Please discuss your health and medication fully during your appointment. Never stop prescribed medication on your own initiative.
