Reducing and reshaping the breasts
During breast reduction, the plastic surgeon removes excess breast tissue, fat and skin. At the same time, the breast is lifted and the nipple is repositioned. The technique is selected according to your anatomy, the desired reduction and your skin quality.

Surgery
Surgery is performed under general anaesthesia at our surgical centre in Diest. The exact duration and technique are explained to you in advance.
Recovery
You receive clear aftercare instructions and will usually wear a support bra. Follow-up appointments monitor your recovery and scars.

What can you expect after surgery?
Swelling, tightness and temporary tenderness are normal during the initial recovery period. The final result gradually becomes visible as swelling subsides and the breasts settle into their new shape.

We aim for balanced breast shape and relief from your concerns. An exact cup size cannot be guaranteed in advance.
Your surgeon discusses which volume and shape are medically and aesthetically achievable. Asymmetry, skin quality, weight changes and future pregnancies can also influence the result.

Can I choose my cup size?
You can of course explain what you would like, but an exact cup size cannot be promised. Your surgeon considers your build, breast width, skin quality and the amount of tissue that can be removed safely.
Will my breasts also be lifted?
Yes. During a conventional breast reduction, excess skin is removed and the remaining breast tissue is reshaped. The nipple and areola are generally repositioned higher.
How long does recovery take?
This varies from person to person and also depends on your work. You avoid strenuous activity during the first few weeks and follow your surgeon's instructions. Exercise is resumed gradually after a check-up.
Will nipple sensation be preserved?
Sensation can change temporarily or permanently. Reduced or increased sensitivity is also possible. Your surgeon discusses this risk with you beforehand.
Can I still breastfeed after breast reduction?
This cannot be guaranteed. Surgery may reduce your ability to breastfeed. If a future pregnancy is important in your planning, mention this during your consultation.
