Targeted acne treatment
Laser therapy can help calm inflammation and improve skin texture. We tailor the approach to what your skin currently needs: active acne, residual marks or scars.
Acne is different for everyone
Acne results from a combination of sebum production, blocked hair follicles, bacterial activity and inflammation. Age, hormones, skincare and medication can also influence how the skin responds.
That is why we do not treat every acne-prone skin in the same way. During the assessment, we determine whether laser therapy is appropriate and which stage of the acne should be targeted.
What would you like to treat?
Calming inflammation
Nd:YAG energy reaches deeper layers of the skin and may help reduce inflammatory activity and create a calmer appearance. A combination with tailored skincare or medical treatment is often appropriate.
Creating a more even tone
Marks left after inflammation are not the same as scars. Depending on their colour, skin type and the season, we assess whether laser or light treatment is suitable. Sun protection is essential.
Refining skin texture
A fractional Er:YAG treatment creates microscopic treatment zones in the skin and stimulates controlled skin renewal. This can soften scars, but will not usually remove them completely.
What does the treatment involve?
Skin assessment
We assess the type of acne, active inflammation, residual marks, scars, skin type and previous treatments.
Treatment plan
The wavelength and intensity are selected according to the treatment goal. Not every session automatically includes both laser modes.
Treatment series
A series of treatments generally provides more benefit than one isolated session. The number and interval are determined after the skin assessment.
Follow-up
We evaluate the skin’s response and adjust the protocol where necessary.
What can laser treatment achieve?
Calmer, more even-looking skin
Inflammation may decrease, residual marks may fade and the texture of scars may soften.
Completely removing all acne or scars
Results vary from one skin to another and often require several sessions and a combined approach.
Treating different concerns separately
Active acne, pigmentation, redness and scars do not respond to the same technique or settings.
Severe or rapidly scarring acne
Deep nodules, cysts or extensive inflammation may require medical treatment first.
Personalised acne treatment
The exact treatment depends on the area, the skin concern and the selected laser mode. We discuss the proposed plan and expected recovery time beforehand.
Good to know
Is laser suitable for every type of acne?
No. Superficial inflammation, residual marks and scars each require a different approach. Severe, cystic or rapidly scarring acne may require a medical assessment first.
How many treatments will I need?
We usually recommend a series. The exact number and interval depend on the treatment goal, severity and your skin’s response.
Can active acne and scars be treated at the same time?
We generally prioritise bringing active inflammation under control. More intensive scar treatment can then be planned more safely and precisely.
When will I see results?
The skin may gradually appear calmer during the treatment course. Improvements in skin texture and scars develop more slowly because skin renewal takes time.
Can I go in the sun after treatment?
Direct sun exposure and tanning beds should be avoided. Daily high-level sun protection helps reduce the risk of pigment changes. Always follow your personalised aftercare advice.
Which approach suits your skin?
We first determine whether you mainly want to treat active acne, residual marks or scars, and then propose a suitable treatment course.
